Group Collection
Art collecting is like any durable goods collection. If you have a group of collectors, the strength is in purchasing
power and the ability to support the collection. If you buy a fine car which you believe will gain value as a
collectable, then the care of that article is an important part of that investment. With art, the collection
has the additional virtue of ( one of a kind ) value. The various works within a collection are a combined
asset. This group of art works can be very effective in public relations. The identity of the group adds value as it
becomes known. The early rewards of a well known collection is the prestige the owners derive. The long term
is the cash value accrued.
I will be a partner in this investment. The share-holdership is divided into points. These points are divided
into lots, and in a few cases individual works of art. The reason for this complexity is to accommodate a
diverse group. The ability of the group to adapt to each collector's needs increases the viability of creating a
strong group. The administration of the group will be effected by a steering committee appointed by the board
of directors. The committee will include various professionals who are necessary to carry out the business of the collection,
such as agent, gallery director and or curator.
